The Kindergarten team will work with students and their families to support students’ success in all areas. Some of our key connections with families
will be:

• Students will have opportunities to write and share writings daily.
• Students will have opportunities to actively participate in school wide behavior incentive program.
• Students and parents will have opportunities for joint access to Classroom Dojo behavior communication system.
• Teachers will meet with differentiated reading groups daily.
• Teachers will provide Number Talks/Number Sense routine three times per week.
• Use Benchmark Workshop for Tier I Literacy Instruction.

Cedar Ridge parents and staff joined together to develop ideas about how families can support students’ success in all areas:

• We will practice counting daily and counting objects.
• We will practice writing our child’s name with them.
• We will practice reading and spelling at home.
• We will be a positive role model.
• We will read sight words with our child every day.
• We will communicate with the school via Class Dojo, phone calls, or letters.
• We will talk with our children regarding what they learned at school.

The 1st-grade team will work with students and their families to support students’ success in all areas. Some of our key connections with families will be:

• The teachers will send home daily leveled texts to increase reading comprehension fluency.
• Teachers will send messages on Class Dojo to communicate with parents.
• Teachers will review high-frequency words (sight words) weekly.
• Students will participate in daily calendar and number sense routines to improve math skills.
• Teachers will provide students the opportunity to practice math facts daily in stations.
• Use Benchmark Workshop for Tier I Literacy Instruction.

• We will help our children with homework.
• We will check green folders every night.
• We will listen to child read every night and ask questions about the books.
• We will practice math skills with our children – addition and subtraction facts.
• We will provide positive reinforcement at home, praise child.
• We will continuously communicate with school (Class Dojo, notes, call the office).
• We will attend parent-teacher conferences.

The 2nd-grade team will work with students and their families to support students’ success in all areas. Some of our key connections with families
will be:

• Teachers will implement Number Talks/Number Sense routines at least 3 times a week.
• Teachers will provide differentiated math groups for students.
• Teachers will implement all components of Benchmark Workshop to support Literacy learning.
• Teachers will communicate with parents through Class Dojo.

The 3rd grade team will work with students and their families to support students’ success in all areas. Some of our key connections with families
will be:

• Teachers will work with students to increase their math levels by participating in Number Talks/ number sense routines, spiral review, and engaging in 3 Act Tasks, lessons, and GA Framework lessons/activities.
• Teachers will use PBIS as a classroom and school behavior management tool.
• Teachers will use interactive read-alouds to help support and build vocabulary acquisition and model fluent, expressive reading.
• Use Benchmark Workshop for Tier I Literacy Instruction.

The 4th-grade team will work with students and their families to support students’ success in all areas. Some of our key connections with families
will be:

• Teachers will help increase fact fluency in addition/subtraction and multiplication/division.
• Teachers will provide weekly updates, Class Dojo, and Parent conferences.
• Teachers will send home folders daily, including homework, a calendar of events, and teacher and school communication.
• Teachers will encourage reading by providing an uninterrupted, daily independent reading time, spelling/phonics, and comprehension practice.
• Use Benchmark Workshop for Tier I Literacy Instruction.

The 5th-grade teachers will work with students and their families to support students’ success in all areas. Some of our key connections with families
will be:

• We will teach the curriculum by using various strategies and resources to encompass different learning styles.
• We will use technology tools to increase student skills.
• We will communicate with families through Class Dojo about homework and the things that are being learned, and provide extra resources when students are struggling.
• We will provide differentiated math activities.
• We will build good relationships with parents and students.
• We will provide independent reading time daily and access to a wide variety of materials through the classroom library.
• We will provide authentic math activities.
